First step for me would be to flake off some of the gel coat and see if the weave underneath is damaged. If not you've got a simple (albeit in your case a bit larger) repair job.

If the kevlar is damaged it would depend on how much damage there is. I like to repair kevlar with epoxy and kevlar material but there are some significant caveats to that especially with gel coat involved. Again nova has a video: repair
If the kevlar is damaged I would say you'll probably use a combo of the two approaches (repair and then gel coat).
