Going to Boulder when the water is low coming from the west through Roe, can be a real challenge. Roe looks simple on the map.......Be sure to read your map and watch the contour of the lake. The lake turns into a hard to navigate swamp with a small channel that's hard to find on the south end of the middle of the lake. It then meanders to the north and widens to about 3 feet wide through a long channel, headed east through the bog....Not lake area. It's one big soggy bog floating on water... Dangerous to be walking on. Be careful and beware. I felt like a dinasour in a tar pit when I disappeared in the muck, saved by a big boulder I had attempted to leap towards trying to jump from the bog to something solid. Yes, I was out hiking around in the woods looking for a passage through Roe. I was told long ago, beware the wind. I have something to give back now. BEWARE THE SWAMP!
