Any suggestions for a good first winter camping trip starting point with a buddy of mine and two young boys?

I've winter camped a fair amount and have a wall tent with stove. I would like to start my sons and a friend of mine off into the joys of winter camping in the BWCA with a great trip that doesn't over do it for them completely. My boys, 8 & 9, have winter camped with me near home a few times in the last two years and we love the BWCA in the summer the few times we've been. I'm just not familiar enough with the area as to where to park the truck etc.

I recommend Sawbill.

Sawbill into smoke was my first winter in the BWCA. Roads are plowed and plenty of parking. Good suggestion.

Thanks to both of you. Looking at the map it does look like a perfect place to begin. Glad to hear about the roads being plowed etc. The boys are already looking at the map to plan where to set up base camp.
