Went to see Bear Paulsen's winter camping seminar last night at Midwest Mountaineering. It was great to listen to him - you can tell he really loves winter camping and knows what he's talking about. Last night he discussed basic winter camping stuff - clothing, foot gear, sleeping gear, food, staying dry, hydrated, fed, safe and sound, and how to avoid and treat hypothermia. Next week, he's doing a followup discussion and talking about tents, sleds, skiing, snowshoeing, and winter camping in the BWCA.
Bear really knows his stuff- from experience. His early experiences winter camping- would have stopped most folks. He just came back from 24 days in the BWCAW. You learn alot from Bear.
