Hello,

A group of friends and I have gone to BWCA for over 10 years now, but for some reason have always entered at Kawishiwi, Brule or Lake One. We really need to go somewhere new and were thinking about the following entery points, any advice or idea's would be great! THANKS

Little Gabbro
Mudro Lake
Snake River
Wood Lake
Pine Lake
Homer Lake

BTW: we are looking for a relaxing time, we plan on traveling for 1 or two days then sitting for 3. And of course always looking for awesome compsites and good walleye fishing holes!

THANKS

Mudro is a nice trip..our group did it in the fall a few years ago, a lot of pullovers and short portages along the horse river, but basswood and crooked lakes are very nice...not many people and plenty of walleye and smallmouth...check out the photo gallery for a nice array of photos from the Crooked Lake areas, moose, bear, huge pike and enough walleye to keep us happy. A beautiful campsite in between Wednesday and Thursday bay on Crooked is what led to the Crooked Lake Martini one very rainy day!

This past fall we took the Moose river entry, through Lake Agnes, Lac La Croix and into Iron Lake, We had a big beautiful campsite on Iron and Curtain Falls is an awesome sight and great fishing(see the 29" walleye photo)...a long poke for one day, so if you are only looking to get in a 1/2 days paddle and have some good fishing, stay on Agnes, might be crowded in the summer, but we caught walleye, crappie and smallmouth all day on Agnes(more photos of those crappies on the photo gallery)

Luck

We just reserved our permit, we are going in at John Lake and hope to have a great time. We are going to be there the last week of July so keep your eyes out in August for some new posts and pictures!

This is a great site!

Thanks
Adam
