On the tread "When to take you kids to the BWCA" people posted pictures of their kids in action. These are so great. Love to see more. So show of your kids doing their thing. I am so very excited too teach my twin boys about nature and the BWCA we are so lucky to live by. Spring is almost here that goodness. Talk about cabin fever!! Heidi

my friend ML's kids(Aurora and Jules) on their 2nd trip.
My son Jesse (now grown), Aurora again, and myself, hauling in the firewood
Jules playing frisbee
I'll try to get to walgreens to digitize some of my old photos of my kids when they were little.

Awesome! Everyone looks to be having a amazing time. Love the one with the Grandparents. How VERY special. I am shocked at the packs they are carrying, they are huge! I will have to try a cannonball out of the canoe. How fun. Can't wait to bring the twin boys!! Thanks everyone.

Chemo years ago left me "Kidless," but have been to the BWCAW. with my friends kids. I used to always enjoy reading Robert Service to the kids every night at the campfire. Here's a few I like. WW
"The movement of a canoe is like a reed in the wind. Silence is part of it, and the sounds of lapping water, bird songs, and wind in the trees. It is part of the medium through which it floats, the sky, the water, the shores. A man is part of his canoe, and therefore part of all it knows." Sigurd Olson "The Singing Wilderness"

Ethan has been up to the BW ages 4 and 6. This year he will be 7 and I am taking him and another 7 year old and his father (they are from England and have never seen the north woods). Last two trips I went to the Timber-Freer area. This year I got a permit for Lake One in June. I have not fully decided whether to take them down the river for 5 days or go into the number chain. Both are nice trips so I guess it doesn't matter. Maybe I won't decide till I put the canoe in the water and see which way it wants to go!
