Great portage. Too bad Oyster lake is so ugly and fishless.

Here is a video of that portage.

Definitely my favorite portage. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. I made more trips than necessary just so I could enjoy it.

I walked the Agnes Portage to Oyster River while base camping on Agnes. A nice exercise walk but in no way as enjoyable as the subject portage.

No, I think he means the portage from the Oyster river that goes to Oyster lake? Or vice-versa. :) It qualifies as one of my favorites as well.

quote bwcadan: "With all the talk about getting to Oyster Lake, it is worth noting that this portage is one of the best in the BWCA. Not long but has nice up and down trail with some duff, stream with gurgling noise, open woods with huge old trees spaced about, and large rocks to view as well, This is worth a side trip just to walk over the portage and back if you are spending time in the general area anyway. If you fish, I hear that is good should you want to carry your canoe to Oyster Lake. Pack a lunch and enjoy."

Agree this portage is one of best I've walked, defiantly worth a second look!
