01/27/2011 09:47AM I enjoyed your report, it made me think about the Big Fork and Little Fork as possible routes for a different kind of canoe trip some time. Thanks! |

01/27/2011 07:40AM I really enjoy these type of trips. While not exactly the same. I find them to be a great alternative to BWCA trips. As you mentioned, packing is not as hyper-critical and a person can bring along a few more luxury items. Yet you can still get a sense of wilderness. My grandpa used to fish this river quite a bit back in the day. Unfortunately he passed away before I was old enough to accompany him. Hopefully, one day, I'll be able to put together a trip down this river? I would also like to tackle the Littlefork river as well. Very nice report. Thanks for sharing your story & pictures, TB |

01/27/2011 07:37AM Warden28 - Thanks for the trip report. I enjoyed reading it this morning over coffee. The photos are very good too. I always wondered what the Big Fork River was like. It looks great. I am glad members of your family went with you even though one bailed out early. Canoeing and camping isn't for everyone but he may realize it wasn't that bad after all and try it again someday. |
