Thanks for reporting on this!

That would have opened up an entirely new frontier for winter camping...

Upon further discussions....I now believe the Forest Service opened the spur road late last winter so as to haul in the lumber to refurbish the boardwalk/dock on Townline Lake. Point being, it's likely a one & done occurrence.

I also posted this in the Winter access entry point thread but thought I'd also post it here to give it more visibility and better opportunity for discussion without clogging up that thread....

So, I made it to Kawishiwi Lake EP #37 earlier today. While I believe county road 7 is always maintained, I have always been under the impression (as the spreadsheet also states) that this spur road is not routinely plowed. Yet the road was completely open with clearly plowed snowbanks all the way up to the campground and appears to have taken place throughout the winter. The adjoining parking lot was plowed too! Not sure if this is the new normal or was just a one (this) year phenomenon or special circumstance?

Also, for those who might have interest. The Hog Creek lot was not plowed but, I suppose it wouldn't take too much extra work to clean out a spot or two to park there if one so desired to enter at that EP. If the Kawishiwi Lake road being kept open is now truly a yearly thing?
