I'm gearing up for my first BW trip, most likely in my 13'6" plastic Breeze. I've been looking for a backpack frame, or better yet, a folding camp chair that doubles as a backpack frame that I could strap multiple small drybags to for portages. I haven't found a dual-use chair, yet.

What do y'all use?

I use a frame back bungeed to the front of my yak. no need to do anything for portages except unhook 2 bungees. very quick and easy.

works pretty well for me.

so most of your gear is actually on top of the deck?

mine isn't, but it could be with a bigger pack.

for me, everything else... sleeping bag, tent, pad, chair, and day/food pack are all below deck. I've had no problems with portaging, but everything else could easily all fit in a duluth pack if one was worried about it.
