What is the best way to re-hydrated chicken? I've tried several methods including soaking in water for several hours before eating (such as in the jar of water at lunch time in hopes that it would be properly re-hydrated at dinner time.
This is the only food I've had trouble returning to a desirable consistency after dehydrating. Sauces, fruits, ground beef, and more I've had great such with. But not the chicken. It ends up being very chewy and distracting from the from the other ingredients in the meal. Any suggestions?

I agree with Bannock. Some meats dehydate/rehydrate pretty well. Chicken isn't one of them. And the foil pack chicken is really quite good.

Don't know if it is true, but one website I read said to dehydrate canned chicken, broasted chicken from a restaurant, or to pressure cook it prior to dehydrating. supposedly it rehydrates better. I have not tried it.

If you get freeze dried chicken, I would bet it works better being rehydrated than dehydrated chicken. I haven't tried it yet though. But I plan to.
I have freeze dried ground beef right now, and it's not rubbery at all and rehydrates quickly.
