Looking to do an out and back fishing trip the first week of June for walleye & smallmouth. Which would be the better choice? Planning a 5 to 6 day trip.

I would think that most people would recommend heading to La Croix via #16 and that would be a very good option. Another option would be to enter #14 and stay on Shell or Lynx Lakes. Both lakes have decent size walleyes and bass. Heritage Lake could be a day trip option as well. There are also lots of bass in Hustler Lake. The first week in June can be a difficult time to fish, in my opinion, so I wish you all the luck.

Went to Thomas last year & Ima the previous year. Tough fishing both trips but that's fishing! Looking to try some smaller waters.

I like the Moose River North entry the most - though both are good. Get up to Tiger, Boulder Bay or Fish Steak Narrows. Good fishing and a few good day trips to Iron and Peterson bay or Irving Island pictographs.

Another vote for #16. Depending on the weather the first couple weeks in June can be some of the best fishing of the year.

Had our planning meeting last night for this exact same situation and we decided on 16 and trying to get up to Fish Stake Narrows. LLC is huge so we hope it isn't busy but what can ya do.

Fish Stake is fine but you will have to go a little out of there to find walleyes. I have a lot of customers catching bass & a few trout there. Of course, the pike are usually all over. :-)
