I am bringing my family up for our first time around the end of July mid week and I am wanting suggestions for a good loop route for three to four days in the Ely area that wont be to populated my youngest is 10 so we don't want any real long portages. I've heard that entry 30 is good through the numbered lakes into Insula lake is that true. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

We have done that trip twice starting at lake 1 and the only tough portage is the last. Insula is a great lake and if you decide to go I can tell you where we caught fish.
