Fire bans and fire restrictions (like only from 7PM - 12PM) are not unusual in the fall and are probably more likely than any other time of the year. Although it's been wet this year, it could dry out over the next two months. I wouldn't plan on going without a stove and doing all your cooking over a fire at that time.
Many times in the fall I have skipped a fire even when there wasn't a ban or restriction simply because it was dry and windy, and did not feel safe. If it's dry then and you want a fire, it's probably best to keep it small and make sure it's completely out.
We have been going about that time of year for a long time. The forest service usually lifts most of the bans the 1st of October if any are in affrect. The days are shorter and moisture is usually on the ground in the mornings, i.e, dew or frost. Have only run into partial bans. but check the moisture leading up to your trip and you should be fine. we always bring our stoves and fuel, but they have always stayed in the trunk. One good storm and any ban is usually lifted. Even on the drive up there in past years.
