My camping group and I are camping from Aug 7th thru 14th and are starting out of the Ely area (Moose River start) I just thought that I would ask those of you who might live in the area about this summer's rain total. We've been up several times and the Moose River can get very shallow if it's been a dry summer. Only 26 days to go (grin).

What I have heard are that water levels are a little above normal right now. Conditions can change alot in 26 days so pay attention to the weather and rain up there and check back with the crew here just before you go. Someone will have just gotten back from the Moose River area I am sure and can give you a report. Then when you get back you can post what you found. I will be interested as I will paddle out Stuart River (a little east from Moose) after my trip through Sundail Lake PMA a couple of weeks after your trip.

Thanks for the head's up. I will check back to this messageboard to see if anybody will post the river's condition in the first week of August and I will definitely will report the conditions we experience after I return home along with this year's trip report (lakes we hit, cool campsites, fishing etc). I can't wait to go.

Well, I thought that I'd throw this inquiry back out there to see how the water level are now that my trip is only 4 days away. We are going out of the Moose River EP# 16 and planning on hitting Nina Moose, Agnes, LLC, Pocket, Gebeonequet, Green, Rocky, and Oyster Lakes and various rivers between them. It would be great to know the water levels on the Moose River,Nina Moose River and Oyster River. If anybody has been to that general area, please give me a general idea of the conditions. Thanks
