Will be taking a group in june 11 to base camp on horse. Was wondering if horse has no empty sites if I should try sites on TCM or try and go over to Fourtown. We will be staying Wen-Sun and will be there just to fish. Was hoping to get info on these 3 lakes from people who have done the trip(no need to post info from DNR lakefinder)

If it were me I'd head back to TCM since it is easier, then try Horse again the next morning. Horse might be my favorite lake. If you don't want to move then Fourtown would be my call as it is another great lake.

Try for the campsite on the north point near the start of the Horse River. Great site, good shore fishing and a good place to start a day trip to Basswood Falls.

We caught SmB everywhere and lots of pike in the weeds down the river a bit. Two good spots for walleye are the point just south of the Horse River and around the Island up in the North end. There other good spots as well, but have to keep some to ourselves.

Great area, enjoy your trip!

As you come into Horse, the site on the narrows, up on a hill, is a good one for view and for being out of the wind (among trees and bushes). If you are starting in the morning you have time to get to Fourtown if Horse is full. On a Wednesday in early June I think you'll be just fine.

Any1 fished TCM? We always get to outfitters when they open so hope to be on water early so sites are open on horse just looking to cover all the bases.

I would think you will be fine finding a campsite on a Wednesday. If not I would 2nd the option of heading back to TCM to grab a campsite. As far as fishing on TCM I think it is most known for notherns, not trophy size, but decent numbers.
