My group is thinking about going on a trip during the middle of March off of the Gunflint. None of us have been in this area before, so we are looking for ideas on where to go. I've got a ton of questions, but I need to figure out exactly where we are going first. Anything east of e.p.'s 49/58 are where we'd like to go. We're hoping to snowshoe in and out, and from reading other posts, it looks like there should be plenty of ice and snow. Also, how is the drive from Grand Marais to this area during mid March, scenery, conditions, etc? Thanks for any information, it is much appreciated.
