I am looking for advice on a good loop to do the first week in october. I would like some river travel but I dont want to have to walk the river because of low water level to much. I dont mind beaver damns and such. I would like to make a complete loop and return to the same ep without having to back track a whole lot, if possible? last year I did nina moose up to laclacroix and back down ge-be-on-e-quet, green rocky, and oyster. I would like to see something new. We have 3 men late twentys, very fit and capable. any advice would be appreciated.

Mudro entry up the Horse river to Basswood Falls over through Crooked to Friday Bay down through Wagosh, Gun, Boot etc out through Fourtown and Mudro.
You may have a few challenges with the Horse River, but most rivers this fall are low and the Horse is not too bad in low water for lining etc.
Loop can be done in as little as 3 or 4 days so you will have time for relaxing.

Interesting. How would this trip be on oh say late May or early June?? With regards to fishing, water levels, and people of course.
Looking for a quick trip like this to do. We would only have 4 days to do this.
Three maybe four guys. Very experienced bwca'ers.

Fishing pretty good especially on Crooked and the lakes south of Wagosh to Fourtown. Fourtown is a popular fishing destination.
Water levels-betterthan fall but this spring it was low due to such little snowfall. Normal years Horse River is easier in spring than fall
People. You will see people, especially the route up to Basswood and once you reach Boot again. North of Boot it will be quieter. Wagosh to Friday Bay you should see fewer people yet. Its not total solitude but the futher from Fourtown you get the fewer people you will see. Fourtown will most likely be packed and campsite hard to come by after lunch.

I have done this route completely or parts of it quite often. I could almost say the Wagosh campsite is my second home-but everyone is welcome to stay at it anytime that I'm not home. :-)
