Does anyone have info on this portage? Rocky, uphill, long, difficult etc.?? I am going in soon and am a first timer.

If you will go to the following web address, you will get a couple of perspectives about the portage. When the flash screen boots, go to the right column and click on "K". Then when the "K" portages are displayed, scoll down to Kiana.

It's a half mile, but not too hard beyond that.
It is a little hilly, but not too bad, because it's well traveled.

I was just on this portage about a month ago. It is in good shape and not very difficult. As I recall it is a bit hilly but not extreme. If I can do it, anyone can. Kianna is a beautiful lake. There is a great campsite at the far northwestern most bay that has awesome red and white pines. Have a blast!

I did it last summer and from what I remember there is a decent hill on both sides, but it is fairly gradual and that path is in good shape.

Enjoy Kiana it was by far my favorite lake on the Snowbank/Lake One loop. Didn't have my camera last year take a couple of shots and post them for me. :)
