Hello,

It is the time of year when my buddies and I start planning our trip and would appreciate any advice regarding a spot I am curious about. After a so-so experience last year, we are looking at going deeper into the BWCA and I have stumbled upon Ima Lake. Any pointers on portages and fishing would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks!

Bump...

Maybe more action on this now that the holidays have passed?

Welcome to bwca.com!

If you haven't done so already? A good place to start would be the Maps section. Lotsa good information there. Just click on the balloons.

Because of the group size (8) we generally try to find a good area as a basecamp with day-trips (4-5 days) for both fishing and scenerery. The primary trip planner has reserved EP 32 already so we are committed to that area. I have heard there are monster Pike in Gabbro and the Kawishiwi offers excellent walleye fishing. Thanks for the replies, advice and pointer are always appreciated!

Great site btw, June cannot come quick enough!

Do check the maps and you might also get some good information from trip reports. In my planning I have found these resources have given me information that helps make final decisions about trip details.
