Not sure about the Kekakabic tower, but I believe all towers that were once inside the BWCAW have been removed. Many of the towers still have artifacts showing there location, but the towers themselves are gone. The tower marked on maps on Angleworm lake is gone. You can hike up to see where it was and some supports and cable are still in the woods along with a geological survey marker reminding us of its existence.
Here is a statement from the kek trail website confirming I think the tower is gone-
"History: Constructed in 1930s as an access trail for firefighting and forest management. A fire tower once stood near Kekekabic Lake. Name was derived from the Ojibwe "Keke-quabic" which means "Hawk's nest on the rocks."
There is a tower in Quetico on Kashawpiwi. It is on the west shore and some have climbed it. I am not sure it is designed to be safely climbed any longer.
