Long time lurker here, needing some advice from veterans in the community
I am looking at the hairy lake PMA for a fall trip this year and was wondering if anyone has ever been through there and would share some wisdom. Will be traveling the frost river, making our way to tuscarora, and am looking for a way back towards frost lake through the PMA.
any thoughts on this route? Looks like a lot of bushwacking to get back to frost lake

Me and my crew went through there in June of 2006. It was more difficult on the first day coming down from Copper Lake. We camped on the stream between Din and Mass Lakes. It was not much for a campsite.
The second day we hit a cliff dropping down to Iris Lake but managed to lower the canoes down safely. Iris and Fetters looked like they would be nice to explore and camp on.
There is a link under my name for trip reports. One of my trip reports is from June of 2006 labled: Bushwacker Practice. If you skip ahead to days 6 and 7 of the trip you will find my report of that area.
Have fun,
Hex

either of you know if any of those lakes in there have fish worth catching? Not particular about species, I just like catching fish. Gotta think there is little to no pressure for those willing to bushwack their way in.
hex - looks like you've taken some incredible trips, I'm jealous. thanks for sharing

isnt this true (ive read it anyway) that theres a good reason these areas have become unmaintained areas...less than desirable scenery and fishing. im sure there are some secret gems out there but im generalizing here.
