Wasn't sure whether to post this in the other active thread I have going or not....
Figure I would get more of a response if I started a new thread.

Anybody taken the trip from gunflint lake up to Saganaga?
My dad mentioned maybe we would take this route this spring.

Any info would be appreciated....

And yes, I did search the Granite River.
Suprisingly, not a whole heck of a lot popped out at me.

I know this area was burned pretty good.... but that's about it

My group did this route a couple of years ago. It has some great river canoeing but we found the Sag area and the Seagull /Sag corridor too noisy with all the motor boat activity. There was some burn areas on Maraboef and on the east shore of Sag as you head south to Seagull. We had decent fishing in Gneiss...I hear there is an ice cave on Granite Lake but don't know where it is...the route can easily be done in 3 days..
