Quite a few folks do. When my wife's not along, I do. For starters, I think they're much more comfortable than sleeping on the ground. In my case, the weight and bulk of the hammock system (Hammock, quilts, and tarp) is less, and my tent, pad, and bag are all of a backpacking variety. Only downside for me has been the expense of the complete system, but obviously I've decided it's worth it.

That hammock tent is cool. Seems like it would be like sleeping on a trampoline though. I'd like to try it out.
I think most people here use hammocks. Look up Shug Emery on the youtoobz and you can learn everything you ever wanted to know about hammocks.
I use a Warbonnet Blackbird with a hex tarp over it. There is a lot to learn with hammocks. It's not difficult, but totally different from tent camping. I prefer hammocks to tents in most situations. Lots of people do not like them. I gett a better nights sleep in a hammock. Drawback is my dogs can't sleep in a hammock.
