Im getting packed up for an 11 day solo and wanted to take a second to say thank you for all the excellent gear reccomendations ive taken from the great membership here over the past few years.
I love my CCS packs and Tarp. I would have never spent the money without you guys raving about Dans gear.
The Fry Bake pan is one awsome piece of cooking gear. Pizza, Carmal rolls and Baking fish. I love that pan. Never heard of them until you guys were talking about the company.
The Aero press coffee maker is a pretty neat piece of gear. I was a pirculator guy forever until i saw it here. Now I use it at home too and my Kurig just sits there. Makes the best coffee ever.
My Black Diamond headlamp and mini lantern are both great pieces of gear. Small and lite and very powerfull. Someone here was talking about them and the web site steepandcheap and im glad I read that post. Im addicted to that site now.
I was a kneehigh rubber boot guy until I read here about the Chota Caney Forks. Man those boots and a quality pair of wool socks and I am a happy, warm comfortable sure footed camper. Probably my best purchase.
My helinox chair one is a purchase I regretted until I had it out on a trip. Yes its 100 bucks but it's so worth it too me.It really makes evening time so much more confortable.
Another piece of gear I read about here is
my Anker charger. I have a note 4 I can now use as my camera, watch movies on a rainy day in my hammock and paired with the App Back Country Navigator as a GPS it has Made solo tripping much more enjoyable. I really love it with the forest service mapping overlay. I can plan my next day so much easier than using my paper maps. I still love my old maps and rely on them exklusvly while im in the boat but it's nice to check your position once in a while also. The Anker will charge my Note 4 with that huge battery an incredible 6 times from empty which is plenty for a 10 day trip. Read about both the Back Country navigator mapping software and charger here so thank you.
Thanks again and keep all the gear recommendations coming.

Sounds like we need to suggest some more NEW gear items so you can help keep the economy going. Glad to hear everything everyone suggested is working well for you.

You can find them on the 'zon for <15-20 pretty easily. I got one that should be able to charge my phone something like 4 or 5 times and I think I paid maybe $13 for it. Crazy cheap electronics out there these days (thanks China!).

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Cha Ching $$$$$$$$$$$ lol
Do you winter hang unshaven? "
Nope, no winter hanging for me I'm afraid. I'm spending more than enough money surviving outdoors from May to October ;)
Endeavor to persevere.

Don't forget the basketball nets for your anchors!

Pocket Bellow"

Not as effective but I've been taking a big straw, like a malt straw, forever and it works out really well for getting my fire going.

When I bought it, my expectations were tepid at best, but this little thing is amazing. Makes fire management so much easier.
