While getting things ready for my first trip, I noticed that my InReach would only charge to 89%. I tried several things - discharge, then recharge, let it set then charge again etc. and nothing would get it to charge beyond 89%. If it had made it to 96% I wouldn't have thought much of it but more than 10% loss is too much imo. I called the DeLorme warranty/repair dept and they were real good about it. First, they found that it was still under warranty, then they opened a repair acct. Within 12 hours they sent a nice note saying that they will send me a 'loaner' and shipping instructions to get my InReach repaired. That is where it is at right now, but everything points toward a pleasant experience that could otherwise be misery. I did ask what I'd be looking at for for costs to change the battery if it was past warranty and they said $45 plus $7 shipping. They also said that even though all rechargeable batteries eventually fade off, this was too soon and shouldn't have happened.

That's good to hear. I wonder what parts of their business will change with the aquisition by Garmin. I've used an I reach se, but I'm really curious to see new products potentially combining sat/nav functions.
