Got one of these for my recent trip in September. It was a perfect baselayer for chilly mornings. It also was excellent as top sleeping in a hammock. I'm now using it for golf. Getting one for my Dad and Brother for Christmas. LOVE THIS ITEM.

It's pretty overwhelming to scan through the choices Cabela's has and the E.C.W.C.S. Polar Weight has always been a high standard. My much less expensive go-to base layer for all winter is also from there.

For quite a few years now, starting out with the MTB Heavy Weight Base Layer top and bottom has been the perfect start to whatever number of additional layers are needed and a good middle ground of warmth and price. And half price right now!

TheBrownLeader, don't forget to use the Add a Link to this Message function below the white text box. It's simple to use, but if you need help, please ask. Thanks.

Regarding the topic at hand, I always buy my longjohns at Cabela's. Not only top quality gear, but they have the all-important (to me) tall sizes.

To me nothing beats wool, Smartwool if possible.

I have found the ultimate base layer for sedentary use in cold conditions and that is Underarmour cold gear 4.0

A few years back I had neglected to bring the proper clothing for an outdoor art show in Louisville KY (St James). Hey its October and its KY.......supposed to be sort of nice right? A very nasty cold front blew in and 3 days of sitting 8 hours a day didn't sound like fun.

Off to Bass Pro.......I didn't want to buy stuff I already had. I had sets of merino wool and capliene already. Enter in Under Armour cold gear 4.0.................I had a hard time purchasing the stuff because it is oh so pricey. I was going to be dropping right at $200 for a set of long johns! Ouch! But I am so glad I did.........this stuff almost makes you think it is battery powered........you feel a little glow around you. Seriously, the stuff is kind of weird.

A few thoughts on sizing........be sure to try them on, especially the bottoms. I had to go WAY big on the bottoms to get a fit that wasn't so tight I couldn't walk. What are they thinking? Anyways I promise you that you can't go wrong with this these........I like it way more than even my Merino wool set (blasphemy!).

Brown Leader.....perhaps a verbal description of the article would be helpful. The link you provided is not posted correctly.
