There was a discussion about this filter a few months back. I see that Amazon now sells them for $20. Do you mini users still like them? Does back flushing work as well as it does on the youtube videos?

Would really like to set up a new gravity filter this winter, is this the best one to start with?

That's what I was wondering about as well. Maybe combining the Sawyer with a Pplatypus Big Zip...

Well unless someone comes in to say this is bad, I'm asking for it for Christmas. I have a defunct Katydin that in going to try and rig this into. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Here's a link to the old thread. A picture of my Sawyer mini gravity setup is about halfway down the page, and there is a parts list with links a bit below the pictures. I really like the thinner walled smaller tubing that I got on amazon, it is a lot less bulky than the standard filter hosing or the stuff from the hardware store/home depot.
