For me it would be batteries, sunscreen and of course food. I think that is it.
I don't buy things like bug spray and permithryn unless I am out of it. Usually I have several cans of bug spray and one or two are usually full enough to take on a trip. My understanding is that the permathryn should last several washings so I buy that new every year or two for treatment. I haven't noticed a lose in how it works after a couple washes so it must last a while.
Any other things out there you buy new for every trip? Or at least for each new paddling season?
I'm glad the days of buying new rolls of film for each trip are gone!

Batteries and lighters. Can't tell when either is low, most everything else including some of the food is from stock and was new at one time, just not purchased for this trip.
Although often not really needed, some new gear item is often in one of the packs.

Seems like permethrin, a few canisters of fuel, and a pack of lighters are the only things that I buy each season with regularity. I usually have a stock of batteries and contractor bags for liners so I don't have to purchase them specially for the season unless my stash need replenishing.

I buy new fuel canister(s) for every trip so I don't have to wonder exactly how much is in one. You can get an idea by weighing them, but I don't want to risk it and look to maximize the space and weight.

most of what others have said plus new plastic bottles, small ones, for the peanut oil.they are hard to get really clean even thru the dish washer.one is for breakfast pancakes and the other for bannock and fish frying and i keep them in different meal bags thats why there are two.
the old ones get used to carry priming gas for kero burning stoves.

Food, permethrin and those little bottles wetcanoedog mentioned. The used bottles invariably leak, and even some of the new ones do.

There was a time not so long ago when I would buy several rolls of film. How times have changed!
To answer your question: batteries and toilet paper.

"Said one of these men, long past seventy years of age: 'I could carry, paddle, walk and sing with any man I ever saw. I have been twenty-four years a canoe man, and forty-one years in service; no portage was ever too long for me. Fifty songs could I sing. I have saved the lives of ten voyageurs. Have had twelve wives and six running dogs. I spent all my money in pleasure. Were I young again, I should spend my life the same way over. There is no life so happy as a voyageur's life!'"

I only use white lighters for trips. You can see exactly what's left in them. The only ones that you can. I pick a new one up whenever I see a good price, but I don't hesitate to take one half full, cause I always take one or two backups.

VIA coffee from Amazon, food items, some good cigars, and check on what I have for lithium batteries. I got one spare vacuum sealed TP that has made about three trips. Can't believe how small a roll can get.
Got the coffee in the freezer and will be doing the rest of my food shopping next week!

I stand corrected. There are a few other items I buy new for every trip that I didn't list in the OP. Since I try to go to a different EP all the time, I usually end up buying new maps. And leeches! A few other things listed as well.
I still have cans of white gas that I bought years ago that I am still trying to empty.

It is amazingly small! I gave my spare vacuum sealed TP roll to Serenity Seeker after our May trip to keep in her gear so she will always have a back up emergency roll. It gets almost completely flat after you remove the cardboard tube and suck all the air out.
I will add new maps to my original response, as well as a fresh can of Nido at the beginning of the season.

Voyager had cans of Coleman gas for $11.99, so I had to buy one, even though I had about 4.5 cans in the basement.

Well, I guess you'd better get cooking then...:)

The day before the trip I get fresh ground coffee from Dunn Bros.; rough ground for the french press.

Update my first aid kit for anything expired, close to expiration, or used throughout the year. Food (we always have some dehydrated that carries over from the prior year as well). New water filter components. Definitely the TP. Gas, lighters, sunscreen and bug spray only if needed.
Over the past five years or so I have been upgrading my gear so now we have all compact, light weight really nice gear so I'm done with those purchases.
