We were up on Sawbill Lake last Thursday with my 2 grandsons and One Match. I always use a ground cloth underneath and tarp inside, just a little bit larger then the floor space. We had been given an 80% chance of rain. I had 2 newbies with me (11 & 9) so decided to put Sportsman Gear tarp over the tent. The rain started at 8:30 pm and it rained & rained until 2:30 am. Some frogs met their doom in that rain storm. Sawbill Outfitters measured 4.3". The QD 3TP could not have performed better, there was not a drop of water in the tent.

OK - maybe I'm not understanding... you had an outie, an innie, AND a tarp overhead??

Or just the tarp overhead?

In any case, that is a sharp tent. A friend used the T3 one year while tripping with us, and regretted she didn't take my advice and get the "PLUS". Much more room for minimal added weight.

Glad you were happy with it.

The whole nine yards, innie, outie and tarp overhead. 4.3" of rain and not a drop in the tent.

I bet my old army issue tent half would be bone dry with that set up.
