Zippo 4 in 1 Axe

Very cool idea. I definitely want to see some reviews on this before I would look at buying it. It will be $80. In the end a sven saw/Small forest axe combo would probably still be better, but who knows.

That spring tensioner seems like it could be a fail point with the push pull of sawing if the blade binds. Not a big fan of the little screw for that sheeth either. I'll stick with the Sven or Irwin saw.

That does not look like a winner to me

I beg to differ Jan. I think strike one was when the inventor/salesman stated "you almost need three hands to operate this sometimes" or something to that effect.
I would put strike two at a crappy camera operator and strike three at lack of lighting on the subject matter. So in my book, it's out without even getting a field test.
I agree with the above though, won't split, can't cut more than a few inches and the spring tensioner and cam are a weak link.
It is a combination of a few products that have been around a long time and have all been perfected in one way or another. If they were meant to be one they would have been merged long ago. In fact, I think they were....by Ronco. ; )
Well Joe, I think you got your reviews!
Good idea but thumbs down from this cat.

I'd like to see a video of it in action.

outdoor gadget inventors really should run their ideas thru bwca.com first. :)

I probably would have loved something like that when I was a kid. But I agree with the already made comments.....I'd like to see how it stands up to some heavy work; probably not too good.

This was entirely a personal choice, but I already picked up a batoning knife, and a pruning saw for about the price as this thing and I won't ever worry about breaking my knife like I would this axe. I get the feeling that this particular multi-tool is aimed more at weekend warriors.

Could be great. Looks like it has potential.
