They look heavy duty ... and heavy. I wonder how the weight compares to a Bic.

Heavy? It is a lighter, how heavy could it possibly be that you would not buy it?

Yeah, but what good would it do you to throw a Bic at a bear?

These lighters are FAR superior to the feeble bics. They are like a mini blowtorch. Worth the extra weight. I carry two.

They may be superior but for the price I can put a couple bics in every drybag with some to spare to just float around the bottom of the pack. Might be worthwhile for a ditch kit or on the life vest though.

I didn't pay those prices. Another thing, since they're refillable, I never worry about how much fuel is left.
