I've been drooling over a Kifaru 6 man tipi and wood stove:

kifaru

- About 8 lbs

- weather proof

- able to warm up and dry some gear

They seem perfect for an upcoming Alaskan moose hunt. They also seem ideal for fishing opener in the BW.

So, has anyone used these shelter?
They are pretty expensive. Are they worth it?
Does anyone know someone selling a used one?

Wow. That looks like just the ticket: a light, warm, dry place to retreat to if needed...

I second getting the 8 man tipi. Three of us have used one for the last 10 years for our winter camping trips. It has also work well for two people on Elk hunting trips to Montana and Wyoming, plenty of room for two cots, wood stove and gear. It is a great tent for 3 seasons but it won't work if the bugs are out in the great north woods. The tent liner is a nice addition for winter camping.
