Today Merri and I tried out our brand new Old Scout Reflector Oven while on the river.
I haven’t used one since Boy Scouts so I was anxious to see if it was convenient to use, easy to set up, and most of all, bakes the way an oven should.
For the first time everything went perfectly; Sets up quick without using the instructions, and despite me burning one side,( I was busy playing with the dog) it baked all the way through without burning the top or bottom!
One thing I would like to see is a colorful anodized finish on the clips that hold it together. I can see them getting lost in the sand or dirt..

Looks Good Mark!!. Hey how about spraying some red engine block paint on the pins so they don't get lost. Have you two gone on the Waukarusha yet since Canoecopia? I used to live in Mt Carroll and we used to use truck inner tubes to tube it from Point Rock Park down to the YMCA Camp Benson. Plus our Boy Scout troop always did a yearly hike with the Cub Scout Pack from the park down to Camp Benson and then have a weiner roast there. I wish the river stayed at a more constant water level with enough to paddle it year round as opposed to just high water times

Engine paint is a great idea, I'm going to pick some up!

The Waukarusha is indeed one of our favorites. We haven’t been down it yet this season, hoping for some big thunderstorms this spring to fill it up.
