Looking for mounting Ideas and Options for the Showdown Troller.

I know dutchman has a good one posted in this LINK It is 5-6 posts up from the bottom.
Any other ideas? Does anyone has experiance with mounting these?

It will be used on a rental canoe.

Thanks

I'm not sure if this helps but I know some guy mounted one to his thigh, just above his knee with velcro straps. Unconventional for sure, but it would work for ice fishing or in a canoe. The ice 'ducer will shoot right through the canoe.

you could go this route.

gimball mount

you could then fasten this mount to a plate of your choice and somehow clamp it to the thwart. then you have to decide if your going over the side-which I am not sure would work real good if your trolling, or set your transducer on a bag of water inside the canoe. the ice transducer does have limitations. suction cup mounting is not really an option with this style of transducer.

I am sure there are more ways to mount the showdown.

Thanks, Keep em coming.

I forgot about the bracket piece. Finman (on this site) purchased both pieces and after I saw them I wanted to do something different than that. since you are going the rental route, your options are pretty limited. give marcum a call and see if you can use a transom mount transducer. not the cheapest way to go, it'll probably cost you 80 to 100 bucks but it will open up more options on how to secure and use the transducer.

I would like to know what your plan is for the transducer?

do you have a preference of the unit being above or below the thwart?

your answers will hopefully get the wheels turning for something more of what your looking for.

The transduced will sit on the floor, and maybe at times get thrown overboard into the water.

I'm ok with both above and below. It would be ideal to have a set-up that is interchangeable. That way you can set it whereever it works best. I like the Idea of it being lower than the thwart, but I feel like this may get in the way.

Interested in some new idea, or miracle mounts.

Why doesnt Marcum just make one.
