I wear a down jacket almost always during the winter. Does anyone know a way to fix a few tiny holes/tears that have accumulated over the years? The duct tape I'm sporting doesn't really look great. I'm wondering if there's some kind of glue that would repair it.

Not an expert, but I have made small repairs on down sleeping bags with this.

It comes in different colors and really holds well. Not sure how big your holes are but it blends in better than duct tape if you can find a color close to your item needing repair.

You can make the Kenyon tape better by cutting off the corners to avoid dog ears, then put a bead of Seam Grip around the edge.

Still wont be purty but its outdoor gear.

In addition to seam sealing it, the tape will not "gum" up sewing machines if you opt for a more permanent solution. That is why I always have a couple of rolls along for tent repairs on the trail.

I had a nice hole in the sleeve of my primaloft jacket. Was nasty looking. It was a burn hole. I picked up the jacket for $15 at REI on their return rack. Other than the hole, the coat looked brand new and the burn hole must have happened the first day the person wore it. This will not work for you as you are a long way away but I brought mine to the repair shop at Midwest Mountaineering and they patched it up nicely with some of their sleeping bag or tarp material. Works great. Cost was $20 so the jacket cost me 35 total. Score!
So, my suggestion, just get some material and sew some patches over the material.

I researched this as well for a rip in a sleeping bag and was directed to this product (Tenacious Tape) Tenacious Tape

I bought some from MEC for about $5 and the stuff is AMAZING. From all the reviews I read, this stuff is about the best for fabric repairs. It worked like a charm on my sleeping bag. And at $5 a roll I picked up 2 extras to keep in my portable repair kit (good for air mattresses, bags, clothes etc).

The original poster lives in Wisconsin so Midwest Mountaineering is likely not a viable option unless they mail it in, but I will add a resounding +1 to their repair work for future readers who live in the TWin Cities area.

I have 3 boys who are hard on jackets so we have utilized them for zipper and ripped fabric repairs often. Top notch work.

I was at Midwest Mountaineering last week to ask advice on down jacket repair. They suggested tenacious tape.

Luft above is correct, I burnt a hole in mine from the campfire, and small embar, landed on it and burnt a hole. I bought some of that repair tape in a close color, and it worked much better than my duck tape trail fix

Thanks everyone for the tips. I'll try the tape until I can get it repaired. I usually get to Mpls or Madison at least once a year. Sometimes Canoeacopia.
