now that i see it pitched in "real life" it looks much better than the catalog photos.MSR does come up with some clever stuff.
i'm sure the shots from your first BW trip in the spring and a report on how it worked out will be just as good as the yard photos.

Yeah, you don't want all that work of putting it up go to waste.

Very nice. Did it take long to set up?

the first set in the basement took a bit of time, figuring out the steps. i had to veer from the instructions a little. the top cross poles were almost impossible to install with the top 3 tent clips hooked on the ridge pole. once i unclipped those the cross poles fit a bit more easily.

I was going to say the same thing. You were one of the people who made me get a taj. Lol what are you going to do with the old beast now?

11/30/2012 07:56PM
my taj has been mothballed for quite a while now. been soloing in a SD electron 1.

it does look like a hippie van without the fly. Looks roomy.

11/30/2012 09:32PM
Yeah, it looks very spacious inside - a palace for a solo camper. It looks almost big enough inside to be a legit 2-person tent.

its close to a true 2...52 wide. if it was 60 wide it would be true 2 for sure.

And it looks like its 52" at both ends, not 52" at one and 40" at the other...?

Ha! I thought that it looked like a vintage camper when I first saw it too! Love the unique profile of your new tent, Jan. Looks nice and roomy for any rainy day lay overs.

This is a great tent for very tall people. It was the lightest 2walled tent i could find that would handle me and my buddy who is 6'7. The sdes, head and foot end are near vertical.

That is a good looking tent. It must have twice the volume of my old solo tent.
