Checked out the SlatGrills on Friday at the expo. Made by a guy in Roseville. Pretty neat set-up and pretty pricy if you go with the titanium. Stainless was pretty heavy though. In my pursuit of the possible alcohol burner set-up I think this would be a pretty neat addition. It can be used with any type of stove though as well as wood or coals. I like it but not ready to splurge. The guy said he was at the winter camping symposium as well.

Fell in love with two items.
The Skipulk...is that right? The sleds for pulling winter camping gear.
Also, got to speak with Dan of CCS for a while about the Lean. OH MY GOD is it light. I wanted it and was ready to get it but my lady is a little unsure about the floor set-up. I wanted to go back and get it today with their discount but I got back from Michigan too late to make it. I think that will be my splurge in the spring. I can think of no finer way to go soloing which will be happening next year for me. Yep, solo virgin here.

So, I am slowly getting into the winter camping thing and that skipulk is the way to go. If Christmas wasn't around the corner, I think I would have also splurged on that fancy fiberglass one.

Wasn't all that impressed with the expo though. There is a lot more to look at at the spring expo. There is also the boat auction in the spring which is fun. Didn't get to make it to any seminars this weekend due to my trip to MI. Anyone else make the expo or the seminars?

Speaking of Michigan, I put about 1200 miles on the new vehicle yesterday and today getting my son. Drove there, picked him up, hung out at a hotel and came back today. Long flippin' drive! Can hardly wait to do it again next weekend....NOT!

Oh yea, thanks a lot Famous Daves and Midwest for running out of beer glasses! Also, I was too late for the give away drawings.

Another choice that can be used with alcohol or wood is the Littlbug stove. It is much lighter than the slat grill (unless you go with titanium) but I can also see some advantages to the slat grill.

Thanks for pointing out the SkiPulk system

But its pricey..! I am trying to figure out how to retrofit my Paris Expedition sled. The sleds are easy to find here at Aubuchon Hardware (the sleds are made locally)...and I got mine for $20. So spending $200 more is hard to swallow.

I see there is a components page...only $164 hmmm

Anyway here is the link ski pulk

Chris and Slat Grills were a new addition to the Winter Camping Symposium this year, and I got to spend time getting to know him. He is great guy to talk to and very a focused business owner, I am excited to see how his new ideas thrive.

Nctry, I also have an EZ Rollup Grill from Arctic Fox. I work with them from time to time and I keep suggesting that they make a Titanium version and let me test it for them. :)
