I bought a Guide 147 from a guy in Memphis. He made this yoke, said the old one "looked flimsy". I'm not 100% sure he understands what a yoke is used for, but if "flimsy" was the problem, I'd say problem solved.

Maybe he thought the yoke goes on an ox.

Maybe he forgot to tell you about the keg suspended from each end of the yoke for proper ballast.

Deliverance was set just a state away, it might come in handy in that part of the country.

I replaced it with a thwart, now all I have to do is load up the cat. Nevermind

You got the redneck part right. Yeesh, imagine that across your shoulders on a 400+ rod portage. Your neck would be red.

I hear ya, my brother, but it'd be a cold day in hell before I carried THAT thing 400 rods. I think "Polylink 3" is actually ductile iron with a coat of plastic on the outside.

Since it was made by a redneck, he probably wanted it to be both left and right handed.

My Rogue IS Maroon, and since I don't go to Arkansas anymore I need to put a couple of big elephant heads on it. The people in Missouri don't hate us, yet....;-)

Perhaps you meant "a pair of oxen" as in "a yoke of oxen."
