Wondering if anyone has paddled the new boundary water edition canoe by wennonah. I have paddled the Minnesota ll, but was wondering if the boundary waters series was better or not. I know it is a foot and a half shorter and I think the rocker is a little different. Just interested in others opinions on the canoe.

sorry, my sabatical is over! lol

the wenonah bw is awesome. symetrical hull. short enough to paddle it "backwards" for solo use. wide enough for good volume.

i paddled it last year. i approve. Jan

kanoes, glad your back - you are always missed.

Fish Hunter we also paddled the Boundary Water edition last September and were very impressed. It did nicely when fully loaded. It is a great choice.

After a couple dozen trips in my min2 I went for a seliga. The min2 never liked rollers coming from behind the seliga doesn't care about them at all and it's alot easier to controll when fishing. I found the boundary water wenonah to be slower than the seliga but faster than the souris river Q17 by a little. I would go for the Souris River for toughness and handling.

Thanks for the info. I am going to rent something different next time and if I like it, it may come home with me. I live in Missouri and do alot of my fishing in area ponds and in order to double the use of a canoe for at home as well a the BWCA, I need maneuverability as well as stability.

I've been really happy with the Spirit II. It's a really good all around canoe that cruises nicely and is quite stable for fishing.

I would second the motion on the Spirit II; after years of paddling Sundowners, MN II, and even a few Sawyers, we found the Spirit II gave us the closest thing to a multi-purpose boat that still handled the BWCA well and the small creeks nearer home. You'll lik the price too, from tough-weave to Kevlar...
