Long ago (as in 20 years now) I used Camp Dry spray to revive things that needed waterproofing. I remember being pleased with product, but no details about what I was using it for, etc.

More recently, I used whatever Eureka recommended to revive Timberline tents. I hated it, made fabric "crinkly" and hard.

Now, I'm looking for something to revive a DIFFERENT Timberline outfitter tent (probably not previously "treated" in its life) and I do NOT want to use what manufacturer recommends. I'm researching Camp Dry products and it seems the one recommended for use with TENTS, has a silicone base.

I'm pretty ignorant in this area, but I know I seal my silnylon tarps with something different than I seal my tents with...

Would silicone Camp Dry work on tent flys??? floors? The other outdoor Camp Dry product (for apparel) is not silicone based and also doesn't seem to claim as much "waterproofness" as the heavy duty Camp Dry product.

Other experiences? products??

I have used many of the McNett products, for repair and maintenance.
Check the link. they have lots of info on how to use the products.

I've always used Camp Dry or generic form of Camp Dry on my tents. Never had a problem, always has worked well. I will stick with that. silicone is a good product.

Camp Dry has worked fine over the years on my Eureka and Sierra Designs flys and floors.
