OK - just got the etrex vista hcx GPS and picked up an 8gb micro sd card. Loaded Minnesota topo and a separate BWCA campsites/portages into mapsource. when I go to load minnesota I can see how to load it a county at a time but not the whole state. there sems to be one file per county. looking to bring up the whole state so I can grab the BWCA area in one fell swoop, then add the separate BWCA campsites/portages file. anyone have any insight on whether this is possible or do I have to load minnesota a county at a time ? thanks

On my map source there is a tool at the top of the page. Its called the "map tool". In the drop down section its just called "map' It a funny looking symbol. anyway click on the and select the map sections you want then go to the GPS symbol and send to device. Let me know if that helps.

Hi, not sure what program you used for portage/campsites but I had good luck with gpsfiledepot At least I think I remember that right. You have to over-write it on a Mn topo. Of course my gps got stolen since I loaded all that on. So I couldn't show exactly how it looks. Good luck, let us know if you worked it out.

Display the whole map of MN, I have the waypoints already overlaid and saved.
Use the maptool,

click and drag across the map to select, the selected map turns pink, Name and save, you have a map to transfer.

I hope that's right as I have just started working with Mapsource, it worked with my Nuvi car unit.
