What color do folks recommend for Tundra Tarp? I was thinking white would let in the most light but green might look the best. How do owners of the white Tundra Tarp like it?

I own a white tarp and two green tarps. I buddy I trip with often has a red. They do tint the light a bit, but not enough to make a difference ... at least to me.

To me it is a matter of how visible you want to be from the water (and air). Obviously green is the least visible while white and red are more visible. I use to believe in the "be less visible to everyone" school, but I have to say that I have come to appreciate being more visible. It's easier to find your campsite when returning from fishing or a day trip, and easier for others to see that the campsite is occupied from further away.

That's a good point! I have a green timberline tent and yellow tundra tarp and I can see the yellow tarp from out in the water (not the tent) the color does help mark our campsite.

I like yellow or white best. They are brighter and cheerier to sit under on a rainy day. Green does blend in nicely if that is what you're trying to accomplish.

Red sil-nylon can give your skin a pretty weird cast, makes you look like you're sitting under a heat lamp.

I'd go with red so if you had an emergency you could use it to signal.

My newist CCS tarp is 15x15 1.9 0z green and PURPLE. Kind of a Viking/Packer thing with the family.

I like white or yellow, brighter and less color influence.

As of 10 pm there is a white, a blue and a green left on the sale. folks really jumped on these Tundra Tarps.

I REALLY like my Blue/yellow/white pattern. Bright and "Cheery" and lets in plenty of light. Spent a LOT of time under it early in the season! TW

I like the bright multi colored tarps, show up great in photos and lets others know the camp is occupied. It also matches different tents and we all know that is very important!

the brighter the better. I have several, and I find that on a rainy day my light gray Noah's tarp lets in lots more light than the darker types I have tried. It makes a dreary day a little less dreary. As far as visibility is concerned, I don't really want to be seen from the water, and I've never HAD to be seen from the air, so bright colors like red and yellow aren't necessary to me.

upon suggestions from here i ended up going with yellow. it does offer a bright roof even on a dark day.

Thanks everyone for your helpful comments and festive tarp photos. We, too, really like our yellow tarp!
