I'm going up for the first time in August and did some research on footwear and many varying opinions. I have a pair of old low Merrill's I could wear otherwise I saw these Korker Wading Boots for $50. Anyone have any experience or do they seem reasonable?

I'd go with the "old Merrils". If you buy the fancy wading boots, how often are you gonna use them after your trip.

Of course the "limp" economy could use the cash infusion, so maybe you should buy new boots. :)

Go to the store and try them out first because some wader boots fit like Frankenstein boots.
I bought a similar style at cabelas and liked them because of the great ankle support. They didn't drain well so they got the dremel treatment after my last trip.

I'd be curious to hear more about the interchangeable sole (?). They look good to me otherwise. I'd try them if I didn't already have a pair of Keen boots I really like.

I've used their previous model for a couple of trips, and they work well for wet-footing. These new models are improved because they are lightweight and the interchangeable sole system is improved. You will want to order the rubber hiking sole, because the base model usually comes with a felt sole, which is great for wet rocks underwater, but not for land hiking.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I checked them out this weekend and wasn't too impressed and the guy at REI said my merrills would be fine so I'm gonna put the money toward some other gear that I need as well. Thanks again!
