I have since adjusted my suspension with some Amsteel and Descender Rings witch connect to my webbing and to the tree.

Nice job on the hammock. I also used the Amsteel whopie slings, they are great for a suspension.

Thanks. Nice job. This makes me very interested in trying out a hammock (not DIY though) sometime. For going lightweight this really seems like it could be the ticket. I'm thinking for backpacking too. Does anyone use a hammock who has low back problems? Mine kind of comes and goes.

If you lay on a diagonal in the hammock you will lay flat. If you lay straight with the ropes you will be in the shape of a banana. I think the straight way would hurt your back. Try turning at a 45 deg to the ropes, you will lay flat.
