Any thoughts on using this in the boundary waters? I received my 20% off REI membership coupon in the mail the other day and i was going to get the Granite Gear Quetico pack but this barrel contraption caught my eye. Please let me know what you think.

I've had an NRS Paragon for 8-10 years, looks very similar to the Granite Gear, at $55.00 I'd call it a bargain. It fits both 30L and 60L Blue Barrels. Never had a problem, straps and waist belt are comfortable enough. Just my opinion, but when you think about it, it's only shoulder straps, a waist belt, wide nylon webbing and some Fast-Tech buckles. NRS makes good quality stuff.


NRS Paragon Harness

There has been lengthy disc. about blue barrels as food packs,search barrels. The new GG barrel harness is very comfortable, on par with the Ostrum barrel harness, IMO. I have not tried the NRS harness,have heard good things about it.
