I use the Chota Mukluk Light with an insert to make them a little more snug. I go in the cooler weather, so the water is a little colder, and they keep my feet warm. My wife has the same. I would have purchased the Quicklace Mukluks if I saw them first. A little more stronger sole. Chota Mukluks

Got some great insoles from Red Wing store recently. Heel problems were causing great problems, they have a pressure testing machine to determine the insert needed. Well worth the money.

That's where I purchased my inserts, Red Wings. I use the heat moldable inserts...

Are you looking for Hiking boots or mud/portaging boots?

A boots for hiking and portaging. In other words BWCA footwear for my wife for all weather. She needs proper foot support so choices are welcomed.

Does it matter to her if her feet get wet?

Knee-high rubber boots are cheap and will keep her feet dry, but not particularly comfortable in hot weather.

A good hiking boot will provide good support and foot protecton for rocks and whatnot, but can be miserable to wear in cold weather when they are soaking wet.

I like LL Bean boots, 16" Leather top and rubber bottoms.

Chota Quetico Treckers are nice too, but again, your feet get wet.

Suggest she look at Lowa boots - the most comfortable hiking shoes I know of - thanks to my wife, who says the same thing. I bought a pair at REI and love 'em.

Lowas look great. It will be nice to try on a pair.
Thanks Koda.
