Here's a chance to put all our favorite gear sites in one place. Share the ones you go to for your gear and the deals you got.

Moab I ordered exped syn mat 9 dlx last week for just under $80. bucks each. Got 3 of them for $60 bucks under what I would have paid for 2 at REI.

Your turn.

JB,
Could you link that site? I am in search of a good deal on sleeping mats.

Syn Mat at MOAB

Here's the link to MOAB and they are a good source, but to be fair to REI, the mat MOAB is selling is the LT model while REI is selling the DLX. I'll still save my $ and go w/MOAB

JB In The Wild, did you get a DLX or a LT at that price? Not sure of the diff., but what I saw on MOAB was the LT.

I'm with Kanoes - REI outlet and Campmor offer good deals. I also check out Backcountry.com for deals and I did just get a great deal on a winter bag at Sunnysports.com

I really like backcountry.com and their off shoot sites such as Steepandcheap. Great customer service. A couple of years ago I received a post card size sale flier in the mail that had a probably misprinted Big Agnes down sleeping bag (zirkle) for around $80 bucks. They also had a BA tent for 75% off. I went on line to place an order since it was such a steal, but the sleeping bags showed up at over twice the price. I called them and explained the dilemma, and said I wanted to order 2 bags. The sales guy got his manager and I read them the number off the flier. The sales guy congratulated me on a great deal, and I have been singing their praises ever since.

!stSat, I THINK the LT DLX is 07 or 08 model (still DLX =thick- wide-long) and Pump DLX is new built-in pump model. I bought my LT 9 DLX's there in late 2007 for $80 as well. I shop around and have purchased from Moab Sports, Sportsmansguide, REI, Cabelas,Amazon, Priceinsanity,KondosOutdoors, Old Scout,Sunnysports,Campmor,Sierratradingpost,Altrec...it depends.

I like to go to trailspace.com...They have a ton of items with reviews and then links to some of the more popular sites showing prices from each one.

Mine does not and was ordered from moab in late 2007. I bought a 'pillow pump' seperately. I know in late 2008 and 2009 I started seeing 'pump dlx' designation. Outdoor Research Exped site (the manufacturer) may have info. If not, e-mail customer service to be sure. Mine (LT) had a tag on the valve that said "push down before turning". A buddy ignored this, developed a slow leak (o-ring??). Exped replaced it no questions asked with a "Synmat 9 Pump DLX" pump built in) The other origional LT Synmat 9 DLX is still just fine.
