Many of you talk of having your morning coffee from a 'french press'. Could you tell me what this is and/or pics of the thing??? Sounds like I might like EVERY mornings coffee from this thing.

Yes I use a variation of this. Fill with boiling water - add spoon of coffee - wait 2 min - press the grounds out and drink.

I got my wife the GSI large model the year after I left at home the coffee pot to save wt. I will NEVER do that again!! I do admit it makes a GREAT cup of JAVA, it is my wifes essential item. I think it was about $20.

I use a french press almost every morning of my life for coffee. When they made the lexan version - it was a no-brainer to buy it for camping. IMHO - it is the best way to brew a perfect cup of coffee. I got the lexan one for about $20 at Midwest Mountaineering in Minneapolis.

I too use a french press. Sadly, it doesn't have a great screen so I get grounds in my coffee. But since I'm in the woods and there's nothing better than hot coffee on a cool morning, I don't mind at all. That said, when you get a press, take a good look at it and make sure the press part is nice and snug against the sides.
