Hi, my name's Koda and I have a "stuff" addiction.
I've been telling myself for at least two years that I have everything I need. Every few months I prove myself wrong. With my snake boots tried and proven for portaging, a new (to me) Mad River Independence in the garage, and a Zeta 2 tent on the way, the next item will most likely be a Kawishiwi paddle from Sanborn Canoe Co. After that, with Canoecopia coming around in another 4 months, it's anyone's guess. Probably a wool t-shirt and warmer tights for sleeping and some nobendium tent stakes and ....
At 'copia a couple years ago my friend told me and my wife all the reasons a Bell MorningStar was just the right boat for us. We nodded and walked away ... he smiled ... we came back ... he talked some more ... we smiled and walked away ... he smiled ... we came back ... he talked some more ... we walked out with the damn thing.
If anyone sees me at 'copia, wild-eyed and burdened with too much stuff, please just go on by. If you try to help me I'll probably bite you.

SOLO Canoe...Undecided for now, Currently own a Bell NorthStar.
May move the seats around and make it a Solo??? Otherwise if there was one piece of gear I am thinking it would be a new NEO AIR Big one,
I got the Large and it is a little narrow for a fat boy like me, So thinking 25" has to be better then 20" wide. Go, Go SANTA.

I WILL be buying a second CCS Pioneer pack.
I'd LIKE to buy a solo canoe.

I will probably be getting a 0 degree bag for sure, but if I could get anything, probably a canoe (bell magic) and a snow trekker tent.

I would have to say a lighter canoe than my old town penobscot & a new pair of teva sandles. My current pair have traveled many miles & not much wear left on them.

Another tent. Always another tent. I am the proud owner of a Taj, but have six others ranging from cabin type car campers to a single that I can barely roll over in. But man is it light, and does it pack small. Always looking for a smaller packing, lighter tent.
An MSR Missing Link would be what I am looking at next.

I would defer my desires, buy an ounce gold coin and sell it one-to-two years from now, using the proceeds to help me buy a two-man kevlar canoe.
I guess if I was really serious about that canoe I would just sell a couple of those coins I bought 30 years ago. As a practical matter though, I'm getting kind of old to be acquiring new, major equipment items.

Solo canoe. I'm actually trying to squirrel away money for one now. I'm thinking Bell, either a Merlin II or a Yellowstone. Tripped with the Merlin II this year and was happy with it. I like the Yellowstone for freestyle around home but don't know if it will track well enough to be a good tripper.

New lightweight wood bent canoe paddle. Broke mine: involves back hatch door of Xterra and too hurried of a shut by yours truly.

Merganser, if you get a Yellowstone Solo I expect you'll find its issues are more with stability (both initial and secondary) than tracking. In its stock configuration it's an awful freestyle boat, but it can be easily tweaked. Get back to me if you want to know more.
